Jonathan
ne yapacağını bilmiyordu nasıl dönüş yapacağını daha
öğrenmemişti başka çaresi kalmamıştı, gözlerini kapattı
ve dalışa geçti. Şanslıydı ölen olmamıştı, ancak kendisi
soğuk deniz sularında baygın vaziyette yatıyordu. Aklından
kendini derin sulara bırakmak geçiyordu… O an tutkunu

to dive he would half-close his eyes like an eagle and this way
the wind wouldn’t influence him as much. As he did these,
Jonathan Livingston would forget about his own identity
and come back home tired and exhausted. Jonathan‘s family
would say to him “Don’t forget that you’re just a seagull and
just like the other seagulls you should gather pieces of bread
thrown from the boats”. Jonathan said ok and just like an
ordinary seagull, he went out to gather fish from the boat.
During the days he spent with the flock, Jonathan once again
realized that he could never be an ordinary seagull and
started his flight training again. He would lower his webbed
feet, lift up his beak and extend his wings as much as he
could to form a curve that gave him pain. He got better and
better and even beat the seagull that had the record for flying
highest. But that wasn’t enough for him and his desire to
fly higher kept pushing him for more and more. One day he
again flew very high and he was about to dive and started
diving so fast. Suddenly a flock of seagulls appeared in front
of him. Jonathan didn’t know what to do because he didn’t
know how to maneuver yet so he had no choice but to close
his eyes and dive. He was lucky, nobody died but he was lying
unconscious in the cold seawater. He was thinking about
letting himself go in the deep waters...He decided to give
