Mobil cihazlar günümüzde günlük hayatın ayrılmaz bir
parçası haline gelmiştir. Hem bireysel hem de kurumsal
alanda kullanımı yaygınlaşan bu cihazlar üzerinden
şirketler birçok gizli bilgi ve uygulamayı çalışanlarına
sunmaktadır. Bu durum doğal olarak mobil cihazlardaki
bilgi güvenliğininin gerekliliğini akla getiriyor. İşte burada
Mobil Cihaz Yönetimi (MDM - Mobile Device Management)
diye adlandırılan çözümler devreye giriyor.
MDM, özetle mobil cihazlar-
da belirlenen kurumsal politi-
kalara göre bilgi güvenliğinin
sağlanmasını ve şirketlerin ci-
hazlara çalınma kaybolma gibi
durumlarda uzaktan müda-
hale edebilmesini sağlar. MDM
kapsamında, cihazdaki kayıtlı
bilgilerin silinebilmesi, cihazın
kilitlenebilmesi, şirketlerin çalı-
şanları için geliştirdikleri mo-
bil
uygulamaların
kontrol
edebilmesi, cihazlardaki şifre
kurallarının belirlenebilmesi ve
cihazlarda bulunan şirket bil-
gilerinin gerektiğinde silinebil-
mesi gibi örnekler verilebilir.
Android ve iOS platformlarında benzer MDM yetenekleri
olmasına rağmen sağladıkları olanaklar ve kullanılış biçim-
leri farklılık göstermektedir. Her iki platform da kişisel kul-
lanıcılar için neredeyse tamamen aynı özelliklere sahip
kendi standart MDM uygulamalarını sunarken, 3. parti
MDM uygulaması geliştiricileri daha çeşitli ve gelişmiş
çözümler sunmaktadır. 3. parti çözümler de ihtiyaçların

modern life. Getting widespread both at the individual and
corporate level, these devices are used by corporations
and organizations to share a great deal of confidential
informationandnumerous applicationswith their employees.
This naturally brings up the issue of the importance of data
security with mobile devices. And at this point, the solutions
known as MDM - Mobile Device Management come into the
picture.
In summary MDM ensures
data security for mobile devices
based on predefined corporate
policies and allows the company
to interfere from remote
locations when a device is lost.
Examples of MDM processes
include; deletion of information
saved in the devices, remote
locking of devices, controlling
of the mobile applications
developed by companies for
their employees, determining
password rules for devices and
deletion of company related
information on devices when
necessary.
Even though Android and iOS platforms offer MDM features,
the benefits they offer and their method of use vary. While
both platforms offer their own standard MDM applications
with almost the same features designed for users, 3rd party
MDM application developers can offer more diverse and
developed solutions. And the use of 3rd party solutions
depends on the existing structure of the organization.
