SBM’de Telematİk Dönemİ!
Telematics ERA AT SBM!
Telematik Nedir?
Telematik sözcüğü “telecommunications” ve “informatics”
sözcüklerin birleşiminden oluşmaktadır ve uzak, farklı
ve birbirinden bağımsız çalışan bilgisayar ağı sistemleri
arasında bilginin, verinin işlenmesi ve dijital alışveriş
anlamına gelmektedir. Disiplinlerarası bir alan olarak
“telematics” telekomünikasyon, araç teknolojileri, karayolu
taşımacılığı, karayolu güvenliği, elektrik mühendisliği
(sensörler, aletler, kablosuz iletişim, vb) ve bilgisayar
bilimini (multimedya, internet, vs.) kapsar.
bağlantısına ihtiyaç duyarken, LBS/GIS (Location Based
Control, Uyarlamalı Takip Sistemi), LDWS (Lane Departure
What is telematics?
The word Telematics is a combination of words
“telecommunications” and “informatics” and means
information and data processing and digital exchange
between a network of remote and different computer
systems that operate independently. As an interdisciplinary
field, ‘telematics’ covers telecommunication, vehicle
technologies, land transportation, highway security, electrical
engineering (sensors, tools, wireless communication
etc.) and computer science (multimedia, internet etc.).
Today the term is used mostly in relation with automobile
industry and related systems. As a result, today the word
telematics specifically describes information exchange
between an automobile and a remote location. Because of
the services it offers, telematics should have an integrated
communication infrastructure. For instance, while it requires
satellite connection for GPS, it requires cellular systems like
GSM or UMTS, and wireless broadband systems like WiMAX
and WRAn for mobile multimedia services such as LBS/GIS
(Location Based Service-Geographic Information System),
traffic information services, remote vehicle identification
and emergency help. Similarly, for ACC (Adaptive Cruise
Control), LDWS (Lane Departure Warning System) and
similar auxiliary vehicle security systems; the sensors,
radars and cameras should be working in a coordinated
fashion.*
Telematics is expected to have a profound impact on
mobile communication technologies, wireless access
technologies, value-added service providers, used car
market, automobile spare parts market, and insurance and
vehicle repair markets. As it is important for communication
systems to work in a coordinated fashion for successful
implementation of telematics, it is also important that the
above-mentioned sectors work in a coordinated fashion as
well. While today telematics services are provided mostly
