Planlama bir yazılım geliştirme projesinin başarısı için kritik
olan faaliyetlerden birisidir. Planlama ile proje kapsamında
neler yapılacağını, projenin ne kadar zamanda ne kadarlık
bir bütçe ile tamamlanabileceğini hesaplamaya çalışırız.
Planlama çıktısına göre müşteriye hangi ihtiyaçları ne
zaman karşılayacabileceğimizi göstermek isteriz.
Bir Proje Planına Uymak Neden Zordur?
Hepimizin bildiği ve birçok araştırmanın da ortaya koyduğu
gibi projenin yönetilmesi, ortaya bir plan koyduktan
sonra bu plana zaman, maliyet ve kapsam olarak uymak
zordur. Bunun en önemli sebeplerinden birisi projelerdeki
belirsizliklerin proje başlangıcında fazla olup, projede
zaman ilerledikçe azalıyor olmasıdır. Belirsizlik müşterinin
isteği ile ilgili olabildiği gibi projede kullanılan teknolojilerle
ilgili de olabilir. Belirsiz noktalar netleştikçe proje planına
olan etkileri değerlendirmek ve planı revize etmek gerekir.
Proje yönetiminin ana fonksiyonlarından olan planlama
faaliyeti projedeki belirsizlikleri azaltmak için yapılır. Müşteri
hangi fonksiyonu ne zaman alacağını, proje sponsoru ise
projenin ne kadarlık bütçe ile gerçekleştirileceğini bilmek
ister. Planlama yaparak aslında proje üzerindeki riskleri
azaltmak isteriz. İyi bir planlama proje başlangıcında
ya da proje devamında bizlerin doğru karar verebilme
şansını arttırır. İyi bir plan ile projeden beklentiler daha iyi
bir şekilde yönetilir. Plana uygun şekilde gitmek müşteri
memnuniyetini sağlar ve müşteri ile proje ekibi arasındaki
güveni arttırır.
Planning is one of the critical factors behind the success
of any software development process. Planning helps us
determine the scope of the project, and the time and budget
required to complete the project. Based on the outcome of
planning, we try to show the client what needs we can meet
and when we can meet them.
Why is it difficult to follow a project plan?
As we all know and as many studies have shown, carrying
out a project and meeting project deadline and budget and
providing the complete scope of the project is usually difficult.
One of the main reasons behind this is that uncertainties
in a project are abundant at the beginning of the project
and that they decrease as the project progresses. While the
uncertainty may be related to the requests of the client, it
may also be due to the technologies used in the project. As
the uncertain aspects of the project gets clarified, one should
review the influence on project plan and revise the plan.
Planning, which is one of the main functions of project
management, is carried out to minimize uncertainties in
a project. The clients would like to know when they will
receive which function and when they will receive it and the
project sponsor would like to know what budget it will take
to complete the project. With planning we actually want to
minimize project risks. Good planning increases our chances
to make correct decisions at the start of the project and
during the rest of the project. With a good plan, expectations
from a project would be better managed. Following a plan
would ensure client satisfaction and increases mutual trust
between the client and the project team.
